From September 20th to 22nd, our photo series on the abandoned high-rises of Frankfurt was showcased at the 62nd German Congress of Geography. A selection of ten images was displayed under the motto "Ghost Towers" in the corridor of the conference building during the congress. The photo series "Ghost Towers" sheds light on the urgent situation of real estate vacancy in the urban context. This makes "Ghost Towers" a poignant exploration of urban futures and market capitalism, leading to the recurring question: How should we deal with ruins in areas with limited space, increasing demand, and high land prices? The vernissage took place on September 20th, and the exhibition concluded on Friday, September 22nd.
