Im Tunnel 2024
Photo exhibition, movie night, and rave. The concept of the show was to work with what we found at the derelict highway construction site and create an extraordinary underground experience for our visitors.
The secret show IM TUNNEL was planned and executed for a summer night in late August 2024. The evening kicked off with a photo exhibition inside the access ramp for a highway tunnel that has yet to be constructed. A mix of digital and analog photographs were directly mounted on the bare concrete walls. At the tunnel entrance, four large-scale black-and-white photographs of subway tunnels in Barcelona, Madrid, Frankfurt, and Offenbach were showcased (Bennett Encke, FFM; Ozkr (FFM). Following these, a series of images depicting various other underground infrastructures was displayed (Bennett Encke, FFM). Further along the gallery, a 4.6-meter-tall, two-dimensional reconstruction of the Amazon Tower was exhibited (Moshe Zoll, BE). The gallery wall concluded with another large-scale photograph taken from high above the rooftops of Germany's financial capital (Carlito, FFM). In total, the open-air gallery spanned 60 meters, covering nearly half of the access ramp. As night fell, the event continued with a movie screening inside the tunnel, featuring a science fiction/horror film set in an underground environment, followed by an open discussion led by B. Keshipour on the interpretation and meta meaning of the movie's storyline. The night culminated in a tunnel rave after midnight, with DJ Glossy and CherryboyAnthony headlining. Although the event was planned for just one evening, the exhibition may still be accessible, as the photographs were left for their natural afterlife.
